In the end, I trashed the compressor and bought another brand, figuring that I still got a pretty decent deal on the guns.Given that experience I will never buy another Porter Cable product again and recommend looking into customer service on any brand of tool you buy - a tool that doesn't work and won't get fixed/replaced is never a good deal. I called PC's customer service number repeatedly over a three day period and spent hours upon hours on hold with the call never being picked up. I bought this kit since it seemed to be a good deal on all the air tools I needed for finish nailing (except a pin nailer). No complaints about the guns, but the compressor didn't work from day one, even though I followed PC's "break-in" instructions; there seemed to be a leak somewhere internally, as it never got past about 50 psi.
I have never had a problem with any of it since I bought it 4 years ago. Nice compressor and nail guns however it is kind of loud.
The reason it got 4 stars is because like others have stated, it's loud. I used this compressor last year to put the wood floors down in my house. I on the other hand, love it. My wife and the pets hate it. All I can say is it's easy to work, and it made what could be a tough job easy. It was also used to put up all kind of moldings and did it quickly, and neatly.
Great deal for the money. I've owned this set for about 6 months and have used the nailers regularly. I even added the framing nailer to the set all have performed flawlessly to this point.
I would reccommend these items to anyone for the price and quality. I am pretty impressed with the quality of these three items. I did some serious comparing with other nailer/compressor kits before buying this one and very glad I went with Porter Cable.
